Redweek Timeshare

The term “Redweek” is used by RCI (Resort Condominiums International) and II (Interval International). Redweek timeshares are timeshares that fall into a high demand time frame. Typical Redweeks are New Years Timeshares, Christmas Timeshares, and other major holidays as well as summer in coastal areas, and winter in areas where it snows. Certain special events or festivals in different regions can also determine a high demand Redweek timeshare.

RCI and II both use a few different color codes to categorize the demand of certain weeks, but in both cases Red Week is recognized as the peak demand weeks of the year. When exchanging weeks through RCI or II, timeshare owners of a Red Week will have the ability to trade for any other Red Week or lesser demand week, where other owners would be limited to their timeshare’s demand category.

Redweek timeshares will normally need to be booked many months in advance and one should consider booking them as early as possible to ensure a better chance of actually getting the desired reservation dates.

Keep in mind when buying a timeshare that Redweek Timeshares have the highest demand and also command the highest price. This is true of the retail (bought from the resort) and of the timeshare resale market.
